Will Sean Patrick Maloney Stand Up For A Balanced Budget?

As Van Hollen Refuses To Say Whether Dem Budget Balances, Time Is Now For Common Sense

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, the ranking Democrat on the Budget Committee, Chris Van Hollen was asked four times whether the Democrat budget will balance. Each time he refused to say. Later in the day, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney admitted that President Obama’s budget will not balance.

The choice is clear: Democrats’ perpetual deficits or Republicans’ plan to balance the budget and spur economic growth. That is why the National Republican Congressional Committee is calling on Sean Patrick Maloney to stand up for a balanced budget and speak out against his party’s fiscal irresponsibility.

“As Chris Van Hollen and Jay Carney made clear yesterday, Democrats have no intention of balancing the budget,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “The time has come for Sean Patrick Maloney to speak out against his party’s disastrous economic proposals and demand a balanced budget that will create American jobs.”
