|BROOKHAVEN, NY… Last night, Democrat Kathy Walsh conceded to Republican Dan Losquadro in the special election for Brookhaven Superintendent of Highways. Losquadro also ran on the Independence and Conservative lines.
Dan Losquadro served in the Suffolk County Legislature from 2003 to 2010, and was elected Republican Conference Leader in 2006. Since 2010, he has represented the east end of Long Island’s north shore in the New York State Assembly.
“In both the Suffolk County Legislature and New York State Assembly, Dan Losquadro has been a reliable voice for lower taxes, less spending, fiscal responsibility, limited government and local control,” said NYGOP Chair Ed Cox. “Last November, the people of Brookhaven elected Republican Ed Romaine as Town Supervisor. Last night, they proved that the Republican tide continues to rise in New York. On behalf of Republicans all across the state, I congratulate Dan on his remarkable victory.”
