Genevieve Piturro, Founder & CEO of the Pajama Program, to Receive the
2013 Edith C. Macy Award for Distinguished Service at the
Westchester Children’s Association’s Annual Advocacy Dinner in April
Honoring Genevieve Piturro, Founder & CEO of the Pajama Program with the Edith C. Macy Award for Distinguished Service
When: Wednesday, April 24, 2013
Where: Tappan Hill Mansion
81 Highland Ave
Tarrytown, New York
Why: The Westchester Children’s Association hosts an Advocacy Dinner every year to celebrate the work of the organization – to improve the lives of children and youth in Westchester County by shaping policies and programs to meet their needs – and to present the Edith C. Macy Award for Distinguished Service to an individual whose work in the community has also helped to improve the lives of Westchester’s children and youth. The 2013 Award will be presented to Genevieve Piturro, Founder and Executive Director of the Pajama Program. Ms. Piturro has significantly raised awareness about children in need, even in affluent areas, and has dramatically helped correct the widely held misperception that children in wealthy vicinities like Westchester have no problems or unmet needs. Her hard work has unquestionably benefitted the many children in Westchester for whom WCA speaks, as well as so many others around the country.
