***Westchester Legislators to Hold 2nd Public Hearing on Astorino’s 2013 Proposed Budget***
White Plains, NY – The Westchester County Board of Legislators will hold its second public hearing on County Executive Astorino’s Proposed 2013 Budget TOMORROW—Thursday, November 29 in the Vincent F. Nyberg General Meeting Room of the Town of Cortlandt’s Town Hall, 1 Heady Street, Cortlandt Manor, NY. The hearing begins at 7 PM.
This is the second of three scheduled public hearings on the Proposed 2013 Budget. The final hearing will take place on Wednesday, December 5 at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.
County Executive Astorino’s proposed $1.7 billion budget calls for over 125 layoffs, the elimination of funding for neighborhood health centers and raising the parent share for subsidized daycare up to 35%. Several curators and the programs they manage at County parks will be eliminated as well.
