Hurricane Sandy Update for November 2

  • Rolling V is providing continuous rides from all Town of Fallsburg Firehouses from 10 am- 2 pm to SCCC, where the Red Cross has established a warming station with showers, food, and charging stations.
  • The Limited State of Emergency for the Town of Fallsburg remains in effect.
  • NYSEG Dry Ice distribution is taking place at the Village of Woodridge Municipal Hall.  There is also a warming station with food and charging station there.
  • The Mountiandale Fire House will host a warming station from 10 am to 2 pm.
  • The Fallsburg Central School District will be opening its doors this weekend for anyone who needs to use their facilities to shower. They will open the boys and girls locker rooms, located at the Junior-Senior High School, on Saturday and Sunday, from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM. The rear parking lot gym entrance will be open for the public to access the locker rooms. They ask that you bring your own shower supplies (towels, soap, etc.) as the district is only supplying shower access.
  • County update: NYSEG representatives anticipate the majority of power restoration will take place by midnight on Sunday.    NYSEG crews are dispersed throughout Sullivan County repairing the major transmission lines and completing repairs to substations. NYSEG Outage Page ; Latest NYSEG Update
  • Efforts continue to clean debris and fallen trees from Town of Fallsburg roads and power lines.
