An Open Letter From William D. Powers

William D. Powers

Republican National Committeeman

September 27, 2012

Dear Fellow Republican:

As someone who served our country in the United States Marine Corp and our great State of New York as Republican Chairman and National Committeeman, I am outraged at the recent chain of events unleashed by our current president. Barack Obama has refused to provide the leadership our country and world needs so desperately.

On September 11, 2012, our Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three other American citizens were murdered in a premeditated terrorist attack that President Obama dismisses as a “bump in the road” and tries to blame on an obscure internet video clip. On the heels of this disgraceful lack of leadership shown during the terrorist attack on his watch, President Obama continues to insult the Israeli people by turning down a meeting in New York City with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – preferring instead to appear on the daytime talk show “The View.”

On top of it all, President Obama refused to condemn the verbal terrorist attack that was orchestrated by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in NYC as he addressed the United Nations on Yom Kippur. This is outrageous, and I say it should be condemned.

In these trying times our country and the world needs a leader with steadfast

determination and the courage of his convictions, not someone who chooses day time TV shows over much needed Middle East diplomacy.

We in New York must make sure our voices are heard and our votes count. We have crucial races in the state senate, assembly and congress that hinge on our Election Day turnout.  We simply cannot risk the most important election in our county since the great Ronald Reagan’s victory in 1980. I urge you to support Romney/Ryan 2012 and the New York Republican State Committee’s get-out-the-vote effort by volunteering through our website or by calling us at 518-462-2601.

Please remember the feeling of outrage and disappointment you have when discussing these events with your friends and neighbors, and translate that outrage to the polls on Election Day. Vote and make sure everyone you know votes.

God bless you and God bless America,

William D. Powers
