I hate to break it to you at this late date, but Presidents and other government officials do not determine the price of gas as much as those countries that produce it. Because China demands and buys more each day at the same time OPEC decides to release less of the cheap grade, the U.S. has no choice but to keep paying more. We have no effective means to control that.

The solution is to switch fuels, like to biodiesel and electric for instance, or drive less. That’s what European nations are doing.

For the record, Justin Wagner is a Democrat, not a Green. He hijacked the Green Party line by use of an Opportunity to Ballot. The Green Party did not endorse, and in fact could not endorse him even if we wanted to because we don’t allow fusion with the corporate backed parties. We did not intend to have a candidate in this race but when Green Party member Jeff Green realized what Wagner had done, he enlisted the aid of other Greens from around the state to make calls to Green enrollees explaining the situation to them and to urge them to write his name in on the ballot. Both Wagner and Republican Greg Ball had staffers call enrolled Greens in the district also, implying that they were the Green Party candidates, if not actually misrepresenting themselves. We have no proof of that but when Greens called, some enrollees said they had been contacted by the Green Party more than once and asked to write in Wagner or Ball (depending upon which campaign they received the call from). When we told them that we were the real Greens, some got indignant and said “We know already. You want us to write in [Wagner /Ball], right?” There will be repercussions from the Green Party over this.

It’s great to see that this was finally deemed unconstitutional, but 4 years after paying a tax that, from it’s existence, rubbed all downstate businesses and the self employed the wrong way and shooed away many businesses, seems like a long time for it to happen.

There’s no chance that this money was put into escrow while the lawsuit was pending so the money’s been spent. Now what- how do you send back money to businesses and the self employed when the money is spent.

Garbage in- garbage out

Want to protect animals from this? Pass a spay and neuter bill.. No one should be allowed to do mass breeding . There are millions of dogs put to death every year because they are homeless, why allow any puppy mills at all? Do we really need more dogs born?

Lower the cost of workman’s compensation and the employers other tax contributions and you’ll have more people hired. I keep saying this, as one hiring during the season, yet no one in Albany seems to care. They’re all about big pronouncements but the solution is right there and no one wants to touch it.
